Mary Lou Seiwert, homemaker and resident of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on January 17, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on July 6, 1929, in Maize, Kansas to John and Abbie (Schneider) Simon, Mary Lou was known for her thoughtful, kind-hearted, and faithful nature.
Mary Lou attended school up to the 8th grade. She married Albert Seiwert and together they built a loving family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Albert,daughter Mary, great granddaughters Kassie and Hope.
She is survived by her daughters Rose Seiwert Hall, Terry (Alex) Guardiola, Katie (Dwight) Claassen, her son Jerome (Cindy) Seiwert, and son-in-law Harvey Erickson. Mary Lou was blessed with 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren with one more on the way, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Lou had a passion for dancing and was an active member of the Polka Club. She also expressed her love for music by singing in her church choir.
Visitation with family from 12pm- 1pm, on Friday, January 23, 2026 with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at Devorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, located at 201 South Hydraulic, Wichita, KS 67211, burial will follow at St. Marks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Mary Lou's name to Alzheimer's Association, alz.org or Dementia Society of America, www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.
