Mo was born on March 2, 1946 in Great Bend, KS, the son of Wendell and Wanda (Kennedy) Doonan. He spent his life in Kansas, either on the back of a horse, watching his “pretty” cows, or in a cab of an 18-wheeler.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Roberta; a granddaughter, Chloe Leigh Doonan; and his grandparents who he loved spending time with, especially Grandma Dorothy who called him “Bub”.
He is survived by two children: Kelly (Steve) Huscher, of Andover, and Dan (Debbie), of Wichita; five grandchildren: Cass (Maggie) Huscher, Alton, IL; Madisen (Kevin) Mattar, Detroit, MI; Jacob Huscher, Andover; Veronica Doonan and Quinn Doonan, both of Wichita; two brothers: Ken (Sue) Doonan and Warren (Jeanne) Doonan, seven nephews and nieces, and numerous great nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the compassionate care Mo received during his final few months at Covenant Care Senior Living and Phoenix Home Care and Hospice, both of Wichita, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mo’s name to the following organizations: Freedom Hooves Therapeutic Riding Center, 7303 E. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM ~ 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 5, 2026; Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026, both at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite western wear and cowboy boots in honor of Mo.
