Nancy Jean Davison, 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday March 16, 2018 from complications arising from dementia in Kansas City, MO. Nancy was born on September 22, 1932 in Des Moines, IA. Nancy initially lived in Kansas City before moving to Wichita. There she spent over 40 years before returning to Kansas City upon the passing of her husband of 35 years Donald Davison in 2015.
She grew up in Des Moines Iowa, the daughter of Milford and Elsie (Pierce) Mann of West Des Moines. She had four siblings: Frank Mann, John Mann, Judy Gochenhouer and Dennis Mann. She is preceded in death by both her parents and three siblings, Frank, John and Judy. Dennis Mann still resides in West Des Moines IA with his wife Karen.
Nancy worked in Wichita for Fox Associates followed by over 15 years at Chisholm Enterprises. After retiring she was an active Via Cristi volunteer at Wichita’s Rehab hospital. Nancy was a long time member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Wichita. In her early years in Kansas City, Nancy was a Grey Lady with the Red Cross. She was always willing to help others and committed a large portion of her free time as a volunteer at various hospitals in both Kansas City and Wichita.
She enjoyed watching sports with her husband Don, especially supporting their local Wichita Shocker teams. She was also was an avid fan of the KC Royals, the Chiefs plus a strong supporter of Kansas Jayhawk basketball.
Nancy was best and happiest when she was able to help others. She enjoyed cooking but was especially good at making desserts with cookies and pies as her specialties. She enjoyed interacting and working with her church circle group. Her favorite time however was when she was visiting family and being with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors: sons, Jeffrey Love and his wife Lynne of Bethesda, MD, Bradley Love and his wife Lisa of Leawood, KS; daughter, Linda Woodward and her husband Kenneth of Kansas City, MO; step-son Rick Davison and his wife Deborah of McPherson, KS. She had four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Nancy will be 2pm on Friday April 6, 2018 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Internment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas.
