79, Nancy Donham was born January 1st, 1937 to Claude (Jack) and Vera Donham (Willhour) in Wichita, Ks. Nancy grew up in Wichita with one awesome sister and three loving brothers. She is a graduate of Wichita West High School class of 1955. Nancy then started working for Dr. Tinerow and always talked about how it took three people to replace her when she quit. Nancy met William “Bill” Soward and they were happily married on March 2, 1957. The two started a family in 1964 with the birth of their oldest son Boyce William Soward. Bill’s career led them to move to Fresno, California and then to Lincoln, Nebraska where in 1967 Carl Arie Soward was born. The family eventually moved back to Wichita where Nancy raised a family and supported Bill’s career as a CPA. Nancy loved her boys immensely and was a very dedicated mother. She was involved in many of her son’s activities such as being a Den Mother for Boy Scouts and driving the boys around to many BMX biking events. Nancy encouraged her sons to be well diversified from learning how to play the piano to excelling in football. One of her biggest joys was to hear the sound of Boyce playing the piano. Nancy would often discuss Carl’s superior accomplishments in the military. As Boyce and Carl grew older Nancy found her passion for the arts. She focused much of her free time on supporting the Wichita Symphony and Music Theatre of Wichita. Nancy could always be counted on to sell ads for both organizations as well as the Symphony Showhouse. Nancy was also an active participant of the Women’s Association of the Wichita Symphony. Bill and Nancy were involved with the Wichita Shriners-Antique Autos, Reserve Officers Association (ROA) and attended many Wichita State University games. Nancy was married to Bill for 45 years until his passing on April 15th, 2002. Nancy happily found love again and married Maurice Goff on February 2, 2005. In the 11 years Maurice and Nancy were married they traveled to many wonderful places in their RV and helped build homes with Volunteers In Mission (VIM). Nancy adored all of her grandchildren and looked forward to going to many of their school events and activities. She had wonderful memories she would often share about all of her grandkids.
