Naomi Berniece Howard

Howard, Naomi Bernice, entered into eternal life on Jan. 30, 2015, at 90 1/2 years of age. She was born on May 25, 1924. Services will be under the direction of DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary. Mrs. Howard's funeral will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 1 p.m. at New Hope Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1400 S. George Washington Drive, Wichita, Kansas. The Rev. Jan S. Ekstedt, MDiv. will officiate her service. A brief grave side service will be at the New Salem Cemetery in Cowley County, Kansas between 4 and 4:15 p.m. on Feb. 7. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Perrin; daughter, Debra Jo Howard-Covey; parents, Ansel and Francis Shannon; brother, Jacob (Doyle) Shannon and his wife Dorothy; sister, Blanch Leftwitch and her husband Arthur; sister, Phyllis Nichols and her husband James; nephews, Rev. Don Mohlstrom, Neal Leftwitch and Gary Simmons. She is survived by her sons, Lex Howard of Wichita, and Kevin (Deborah) Howard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Josh Howard, Ryan Howard, Aaron (Katelin) Howard all from Colorado, Leslie (Wendy) Covey of Texas, Laura (Devin) Parker of Colorado, Mark (Israel) Covey of New Jersey, Erin Howard, Kelli Howard of Tulsa; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews
