Pat was proud to have been born and raised, and to have lived nearly all of his life, in Wichita. He was born on January 27, 1951 to Edward and Vera O’Rourke. He attended Carter Elementary School and Brooks Junior High School and graduated from Wichita East High School in 1969. He majored in Business Administration at the University of Kansas and studied Real Estate Economics at Wichita State University.
Professionally, Pat’s proudest achievement was the founding of O’Rourke Title Company, where he presided as President and CEO for more than 18 years. At the height of his career, Pat owned O’Rourke Title as well as REI Banc Inc., Property Inspections Plus LLC, Commerce Title LLC in Lawrence, Kansas, and Abstar Title Co in St. Louis, Missouri.
Pat cared deeply about the community of Wichita and served on the board of several associations, including the American Heart Association, the Wichita Area Association of Realtors, the Wichita Area Builders Association, and the Downtown Wichita Association.
Pat is preceded in death by Edward O’Rourke (father), Vera O’Rourke (mother), and Ashley O’Rourke (daughter).
He is survived by his sons Ryan O’Rourke (K.C.) of Leawood, Kansas, and John O’Rourke of Wichita; his sister Deanna O’Rourke (Bruce Peters) of Wichita; his granddaughters Maeve and Mills O’Rourke; his niece Jennifer Merimonti (Steve) of Grapevine, Texas; and his great nieces Erin and Megan Merimonti.
A private family service will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home.
