

Born to Riney W. and Mary (Patry) Hay, Sr., the youngest of 5 children, died at the age of 93, December 19, 2016. He served in WWII as a tailgunner over Italy. After the war he played baseball with the Bartlesville Oilers, a farm team for the Pittsburg Pirates. Riney led a full life retiring from the Post Office, umpiring the victory and city league baseball games, and playing golf. He was active in his church and the Knights of Columbus advancing to the 4th Degree. Preceded in death by wife, Zeda; son-in-law, Roger Barnes; Brother, John Hay; Sisters, Dorothy Mattix, and Mary Kessler. Survived by son, Riney (Karen) Hay, III; daughters, Sue Ann (Albert) Spencer, and Cindy Barnes; sister, Margaret Kessler; Brother-in-law, Pete (Carol) Shepherd; 6 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rosary will be Thursday, December 22 at 7:00 pm. Funeral will be Friday, December 23 at 1:00 pm. Both services will be held at St. Joseph Church, 132 S Millwood. Burial will be at White Chapel, Wichita. Memorials to: St. Joseph Church or Lumen Christi Chapel, 3642 N. Ridge Rd., Wichita, KS 67205.
