

Richard L. Ellis, retired USPS mail carrier, born on November 24, 1940 in Big Rapids, Michigan and passed away on December 7, 2025, at the age of 85. He was the son of Richard C. and Donna Jean (Becker) Ellis.
Richard was known for his hard-working nature and his deep love for the outdoors and country life. He had a profound affection for animals and was passionate about fixing old tractors and cars. His hobbies included building and modeling airplanes and boats, and he took great pride in restoring an old John Deere tractor.
Richard served in the US Air Force in the missile maintenance squadron. He was a patient, selfless, and kind-hearted individual, qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.
Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Martha Sue Ellis, his parents and brother Gordy Ellis.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Brenda Alquest (Brian); and his son and daughter-in-law Jeff Ellis (Leah); his sister Nancy Whittemore, his granddaughter Marissa Alquest (Matt), hir grandson Logan Alquest (Amber), his granddaughter Hannah Ellis, his grandson Jordan Ewings (Emma), his great grandchild Mason Alquest, great grandchild Maelyn Baysinger and many nieces, nephews and friends.
His legacy of love and dedication to his family will be fondly remembered.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
