

Cherry, L. Robert “Bob”, 81, of Andover, Kansas passed away Sept. 4, 2015, peacefully at home. He was born June 25, 1934 in Vine Creek, near Manchester, KS. He was the son of John and Ruby Cherry. As a young man he moved to Wichita and worked in road construction. He and his brothers later owned and operated Tri-Company Construction, Delta Sand, Haynes Concrete and Jabaka, Inc. Bob married Esther Root Sept. 6, 1970. They lived and worked in the Oxford and Winfield area for many years. Upon retirement, Bob and Esther traveled and then settled in Sierra Vista, AZ. They moved back to the Wichita area a year ago. Survivors include his wife Esther of the home, his daughter Debbie Moses (Steve), Haysville, KS., son Dusty Cherry (Katrina) Sherman, TX., step son Daniel Coyle (Sandy) Wichita, sister Marcella Craig of Norco, CA and brother Ronnie Blake (Connie) of Augusta, KS. Also survived by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two-great-great grandchildren and loved and missed by many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, two brothers and a stepdaughter. A visitation will be held on Thurs. Sept. 10, 2015 from 9 to 10am with funeral services following at 10am both at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Pastor Craig Atherton will officiate. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum in Wichita. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Interim Healthcare of Wichita Hospice.
