Robert (Bob) completed his lifetime journey October 21, 2016 and now rests free of pain in the arms of his loving Savior who welcomed him home. Robert Joseph Lange was born August 13, 1925 the son of Harry Edward and Minnie (Hundley) Lange. He was preceded in death by his father Harry Edward Lange, his mother Minnie (Hundley) Lange), his step-father Asa Isham, brothers Charles Lange, Fred Lange, Homer Lange, and sisters Lorraine Tharp and Mary DeHaven. Surviving is his wife Aileen and brothers Harold Lange, James Lange and Darrell Isham. Bob entered the U.S. Infantry on December 8, 1943 and served in the European Theatre. He was awarded the Purple Heart for action in Germany and was Discharged on November 16, 1945. Robert was a lifelong resident in Wichita and retired following 34 years working for the City of Wichita, Traffic Engineering Dept. He enjoyed his retirement and was an avid golfer. His friends were many and he treasured each and every one. Services will be held Tuesday, October 25, with a visitation from 9AM-10AM with funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM at Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 N. Tyler, Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at Resthaven. Memorials may be made to the church. Bob was an ordinary fellow who served his country and offered up his life. His ranks are growing thin so perhaps at the ending of his days we might say: OUR COUNTRY IS IN MOURNING - FOR A VETERAN DIED TODAY.
