Robert Leonard Rackham Jr.

Robert L Rackham Jr. 76, born January 30, 1944, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2020. Preceded in death by parents Robert L Rackham Sr. and Wilma Irene Davison; his wife Sharon R. Rackham and son Christopher K Rackham.

He is survived by children Forrest (Kelley) Rackham; Nikki (Scott) Mueller; Christina (Mark) Annen; Greg Rackham; Rene (Brent) Lies and Phil (Pauline) Dunn; sisters Pam (Rod) Jackson and Billie Olson. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

“Bob’ was born in Portland, Oregon and soon moved to Wichita, Kansas, where his aunts Vera & Louise helped raise him. He became a ward of Maude Carpenters Children’s Home at the age of 11 where he met his lifelong best friend Bob Ogle. He joined the Marines at the age of 17, finished his commitment to our great country, and later retired from Learjet after 30+ years.

In 1987, daughters Rene & Nikki, introduced their parents, Bob & Sharon, who married after dating for 2 weeks. Their love and admiration grew deeper & stronger as each year passed. You never saw one without the other. Bob never truly got over the loss of his loving wife Sharon in June 2020. Despite his physical ailments, we believe he died from a broken heart.

Bob was stubborn, loyal, hardworking, and had a sense of humor. Even his children knew to be ready for anything while dining out with him. There are so many great stories about Bob but the most important one is his reunion with his best friend and wife Sharon in Heaven.
