Robert "Bob" Runyan

Robert P. Runyan, age 83 passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, February 3, 2025. He was born October 15, 1941, to Paul Runyan and Grace (Marshall) Runyan in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Bob was a lifetime enthusiast of the aircraft industry serving in the US Airforce and retiring from Cessna Aircraft. He also worked at Lear Jet and Honeywell after his retirement from Cessna. Bob loved all sports and spent many years coaching baseball and football in the Mulvane Recreation program. He loved to hunt and fish but his great love was the game of golf. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in Mulvane for 45+ years. He served in many positions during this time but most of all loved being a Deacon, leading others to our Lord. He also was active in the Gideon Organization.

He was a preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Grace Runyan; sister-in-law, June Runyan; brother-in-law, Alan Roberts; and great-granddaughter, Audrey Runyan.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pat Runyan; son Jeff (Gevelle) Runyan; son Steve (Jennifer) Runyan; daughter, Jan (Anthony) Chavez; grandchildren, Dalton (Kayla) Runyan, Mason (Jillian) Runyan, Olivia Chavez, Nathan Chavez, and Violet Chavez; great-grandchildren, Sophie Runyan and Alice Runyan; brother, Jim (Helen) Runyan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Bob, will be held from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Mulvane, Kansas.
