Rudy T. Rushing 77, retired from the Air Force after 23 years and as a lab tech at Augusta Hospital after 15 years, passed away August 14, 2017. Rudy enjoyed "lumber jack golfing" and spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded by wife, Catherine Rushing; parents; brothers, Charles and James "Dink" Rushing; sister, Virginia Louise Underwood; and great grandchild, Jordan Lewis Gunter. Rudy is survived by sons, Troy (Kim) Rushing and Larry (Trish) Rushing; daughters, Durelle "Dee" Gabbard and Deborah (David) Sanders; brother, Pete Rushing; and sister, Margie "Boop" Byers; grandchildren, Amber (Michael), Cassie, Keelan (Kasie), Blaigh, Kinsley, Joshua (Christina), Matthew, Kirsten, Nicole, Morgan (Geoff), Taya, Sean and Marika; and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Resthaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675-8517.
