Shasta Daisy~ Your life, your light, your pain, your grace, and now your absence. It matters. ALL of it matters. You are proof that beauty can grow in even the most difficult places. I will always carry you in my heart and I will forever be proud to call you my cousin. To all of the beautiful people who your life has touched~ when the awful darkest days come, know you’re not alone. Pain will tell you to keep quiet, but that’s a lie. Life is fragile and we all break in different ways. I hope you know you can be honest. I hope you know that you can ask for help. It is absolutely positively okay to ask for help. It simply means you’re human. Help is real and it is possible; people find it everyday. You have to look and know that it doesn’t rain forever. 

Shasta came into our family when she and Tammy met in c.ollege.  Shasta was a sweet and kind person. One of my favorite memories was vacationing with her in Rocky Mountain National Park. Also, my last trip with Tammy and her at the zoo. She will be missed and 
will always have a special place in my heart.


I remember Shasta had bright beautiful eyes and a glowing smile.  She and Jason played at the ball field playground with our 2 kids while the adults played slow pitch.  Fond memories.  She will be missed.  🙏🙏💪💪🙏🙏

The first time we met Shasta the girl’s were working at Girl Scout Camp. Tammy called and asked if she and a friend could stay the night. Could we pick them up in front of Independence Center Shopping Mall ( Independence, Missouri). We all jumped into the car and as we approached the main entrance our daughter, Kera started pointing and saying, “Look, there’s Tammy! She’s kissing someone!” We were about to instruct Kera to mind her own business when we saw our niece and her beautiful friend, Shasta. This is how Tammy came out and brought us the most wonderful gift—another niece. We are used to welcoming a new niece at Hospitals but this was definitely a new way to meet someone so special and dear! We didn’t get to have a baby shower or proper celebration to welcome Shasta into our family but we fell in love with this beautiful, talented young lady and were so happy for them both! Shasta and Tammy complemented each other and in many ways we felt Shasta was Tammy’s rock! Shasta was a bright and shining star and  too good for everything this world threw her way! She was incredibly smart and strong and fought so hard to stay. Shasta and Tammy loved each other and were surrounded by family who cherished them both. We were Blessed to have Shasta even though our time together was too short!  Someday we will join her in Heaven shower her with all the love we tried to show her on this earth.  We are heartbroken but filled with memories and longing for the day we can once again see our beautiful niece-in-law, Shasta. We promise to take care of our Tammy and help your  Dad  anyway we can! We loved you Shasta Lynn just as we loved our Tamara Lynn! You are gone way to soon but alive forever in our memories and our heart! Shasta was one of the first people I met when I moved to Wichita and I so badly needed friends who saw the true me. She was quiet at first but every time we talked it was clear that she was very caring and thoughtful. Her relationship with Tammy inspired so many of us to look for a love that strong! She will be so very missed and I will keep a part of her in my memories always

Shasta and I met during our Girl Scout camp days. She was funny, sarcastic, and so so kind. She helped me be me, and that altered the path of my life. 
Camp friendships will always hold a special place in my life. I am sending all of my love and comfort to Tammy and Shasta’s friends and family. She is missed. 

I no longer have the photo, but I used to carry a picture of us from high-school that we took during photography class. You were the kindest person I have ever met. I am so sorry you are gone. I hope you find peace out there in the universe, and that your family finds comfort.
