Steven Dale Klotz, age 73, passed away on January 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of his daughter. He was born on April 1, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, to his parents, Marvin Klotz and Rita LaCour, who preceded him in death.
Steven found true happiness in the connections he built and the moments he shared with the people around him. He treasured time spent with friends just as deeply as time with family, often gathering for good conversation, a favorite meal, or a cold drink enjoyed in good company.
He loved sharing laughter over the table, revisiting well‑loved stories, and making new memories along the way. Sports were another joyful thread woven throughout his life—whether watching a big game, discussing plays with friends, or simply enjoying the camaraderie that came with being a loyal fan. These simple pleasures, combined with his warm presence and easygoing nature, made him someone others gravitated toward and deeply cherished.
Steven is survived by his brother, Dan (Paula) Klotz; his daughter, Lacey (Ryan) Esterly; and his two cherished grandchildren—one granddaughter and one grandson—who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Steven’s legacy lives on in the love he instilled in his family and the many lives he touched throughout his years.
A Celebration of Life Service for Steven will occur 2:00PM, Thursday, February 19th, at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 East 13th Street North, Wichita, Kansas 67206.
