Sylar Praise Bushner, of Wichita, Kansas, was a beautiful, bright soul who graced this world for far too short a time. Though he was almost two years old, Sylar’s impact was deep, powerful, and unforgettable to all who were blessed to know him.
From the very beginning, Sylar was one of a kind—funny, full of life, and bursting with personality. He was a light in this world, a truly talented little soul whose joy radiated wherever he went. No day was complete with Sylar without messes to clean or laughter to share—often 15 to 20 messes a day, each one a reminder of his boundless curiosity and energy. He could often be found climbing where he shouldn’t, running away from Mom and Dad with a giggle, or eagerly “helping” clean with a vacuum in hand.
Sylar had an extraordinary love for music and expression. He amazed everyone with his natural ability to strum a guitar, sing into a microphone, and dance with a freedom that could bring tears to your eyes. He knew the song “Jesus Loves Me” word for word, and his sweet voice filled hearts with comfort and joy. Fishing poles were one of his greatest treasures—his own or anyone else’s—and he took that passion very seriously.
Above all else, Sylar loved deeply. His hugs and kisses were the kind you never wanted to let go of. He adored his sisters fiercely and was never far from his big brother Mason’s side. He knew how to be silly, how to comfort, and how to love with his whole heart.
Sylar is survived by his loving parents, Karina Richelle Thomas and Anton Clayton Bushner; his siblings, Maraya, Mason, and Wrenlee; his aunt, Thomasina and cousins, Kylee and Kyle in the home; his grandparents, Brenda Buck, Lynn and Javi Gonzalez, Mark Flores, and Tana Johnson; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins—too many to count—who cherished him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Randal Thomas; grandmother, Tisha Bushner; and his siblings, Isabella Thomas and Silas Bushner, who now lovingly welcome him home.
Sylar will be missed beyond words and remembered always for his joy, his laughter, his music, and the light he brought into this world during his brief yet meaningful life.
