Blessed with 82 years of life, Terrell L. Veazey Sr. entered into his Heavenly home on November 29, 2023. He was born October 18, 1941, to Jim Patton Veazey and Ruby Louise (Hogue) Veazey in Carter, Mississippi.
A beloved man with extraordinary qualities, Terrell was known by many for his innate zeal to serve others, a heart of gold, and acquiescent spirit willing to provide love, guidance, and solitude to those around him.
After completing seminary at Gulf Coast Bible College, he pursued and practiced his call to pastor for over 25 years with the Pentecostal Church of God organization. It is here where he formed lifelong friendships, mentorships, and a community of those who would be present with him throughout his lifetime.
Terrell was a humble and private man, unshakeable in his love for his family, a faithful shepherd to his congregation, a devoted and fervent man in his pursuit to lead others to Jesus Christ, and an avid lover of football and food. Genuine in the love he shared to others, he spoke to you with words of wisdom, love, discipline, and compassion that made you feel sincerely valued, unquestionably seen, and authentically heard.
Terrell was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Ruby Veazey; sons Mark Veazey and Terrell L. “Terry” Veazey Jr; and brothers Lewis Veazey and Charles G. “Jerry” Veazey. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Grace Veazey; his son, Carl Veazey; daughter, Tara (Joshua) Sherman; daughter, Melissa Pinter; son, Bobby (Jamie) Smith; daughter-in-law, Lisa Veazey; his grandchildren Trey (Jessica) Veazey, Joy Veazey and Ben (Kayla) Veazey, Brittany Veazey, Luke Sherman, Kirstie, Cody, and Colton Pinter; Cody Hembree, Dustin, Seth, and Ethan Smith; his brothers Jimmy and Robert Veazey; and his sister-in-law Shirley Veazey and Carolyn Veazey.
Visitation will be Monday, December 4, from 4-7 p.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home. A chapel service will be at the same location on Tuesday at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Lakeview Cemetery in the Garden of Prayer.
