

Velma L. Grassmeyer 86, passed away October 15, 2016. Velma worked for D.R. Lauck Oil for over 30 years, retiring at age 79, and even though she never drove a single day in her life, she never missed one day of work. Velma enjoyed cooking Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas dinners, and was known for her famous party mix that she handed out to family and friends. She was an independent and strong lady, who purchased her first home at the age of 74, she was proud of it and loved her home. She enjoyed watching and supporting the Wichita Wings Soccer team, she held season tickets and never missed a game. She loved her children, grandchildren and family and would always be there for each and every one of them. She was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Mildred Trivelpiece; sisters, Marceline Lambert, Juanita Swaford and JoAnn Heinricy. Velma is survived by ex-husband and friend, Robert D. Grassmeyer; daughters, Terry Wilborn, Karen (John) Joe and Sandra (Louis) Eilerts; son, Gary (Joyce) Grassmeyer; grandchildren, Amber, Lonnie, Lisa, Stacia, Karie and Shain; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; and special friends, Keith & Hopper, Delilah & Eloy, Jimmy & Sandy, and everyone at D.R. Lauck Company. Celebration of Life Service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary.
