Wanda Lee Creason

Wanda Lee (Chowning) Creason, a woman of great strength and unwavering faith, passed away on February 1, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 90. Born on January 28, 1935, in Cabool, Missouri, to the late Walter and Clara (Fry) Chowning, she was a beloved sister to Joyce.

Wanda's work ethic was instilled early, and while waitressing at NuWay Burgers in Kansas City, she met her future husband, Charles Creason. Together, they built a beautiful family with their children: Debbie, Karen, and Ron. As a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, Wanda's culinary skills were unmatched, and she took pride in keeping her home immaculate, always ready to welcome unexpected guests.

A devout Christian, Wanda accepted Jesus into her heart and cherished her time worshiping with the Assembly of God Church.

Wanda enjoyed simple pleasures, such as settling in with her favorite snacks—caramel and cheddar cheese popcorn or a Hershey's candy bar. When out and about, she delighted in hunting for new treasures to add to her cherished collection of silver jewelry. Her son Ron often teased her by claiming her favorite shows, like The Price is Right and Judge Judy, were canceled, to which she responded with a playful grin.

Wanda's kind heart and willingness to help those in need made her an angel in the lives of everyone who knew her. Her loving spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. Though we will miss her every day, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace.

Wanda is survived by her children: Karen (Robert) Jasso and Ron (Melissa Samuel) Creason; her grandchildren: Patrice Casper, Seth Creason, Gabriel Jasso, Sam Jasso, Mark Green II, and Troy Green; and her great-grandchildren: Alexis Creason, Logan Casper, Madison Casper, Connor Creason, Julissa Green, Samantha Green, and Troy Green. She now joins her loved ones who have gone before her: parents, Walter and Clara; husband, Charles; daughter, Debbie Green, and grandson, Travis Green.

A visitation for Wanda will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a funeral service following at 3:00 PM and a graveside service after in the garden, Sermon on the Mount. All at Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
