

William Joseph LaBelle, 79, of Newton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025. He was born January 24, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Paul Urbain and Katherine Marie (Wheaton) LaBelle.
William served in the United States Marine Corps in Southeast Asia for 3 years, then was honorably discharged, and moved back to Wichita, KS.
William worked as a firefighter in Wichita for a few years until he was injured, then went into business as an accountant and tax preparer where he worked for many years until his retirement in 2024. During his free time, he was an avid outdoorsmen, where he loved to go hunting, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. Ultimately, he moved out to the country as that was his overall dream.
William was a lifelong Catholic, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus; and was a current member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Newton, KS.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Paul & Katherine; his beloved wife, Kitty; along with his aunt and uncle, Paul & Irma Stotts.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick "Pat" Brewer, Matthew "Matt" LaBelle, and Jennifer LaBelle; his five grandchildren, Ryan, Kyle, Sydney, Meghan, and Tyler; his 5 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; along with many friends.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025; Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 106 East 8th Street, Newton, Kansas 67114, with Father Andrew Bergkamp officiating.
Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
