

William "Bill" E. Morin 87, lifelong devout Catholic, loving husband, father and grandfather, and Airforce Veteran, passed away Dec. 28, 2016. His funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sat. Dec. 31, 2016 at Resthaven Mortuary. Bill was born to Thomas and Inez Morin July 21, 1929. He was an alumni of St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, and Aviation Cadet School in Houston, TX, graduating both colleges in 1951 and marrying his wife, Gloria Wilson. After his graduation, he trained at Langley AFB in VA, for night missions before going to Korea in Jan. of 1952. In Korea, he flew 50 combat night missions as navigator/bombardier on B-26 bombers. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the UN Service Ribbon and the Korean Service Ribbon. He served four years on active duty and remained in the reserves for five years, attaining the rank of Captain. On leaving active duty, he began a business career in Minneapolis, MN, with NW Bancorporation. Later he joined the Apache Corp working commercial real estate developments there and in Rochester, MN, as well as in management of the Rand and Foshay Towers. In St. Paul, he worked for L.J. Sheridan Co. in commercial property management and for Ellerbe Architects as Director of Finance Administration. In 1976, Bill came to Kansas City, MO, as General Manager of the City Center Square development management and leasing. In 1979 he moved to Wichita, KS, as Executive Vice President of Builders Inc. He held several other positions in Wichita, most notably, in 1986 he formed Morin Development Corp. In his later years, he was an associate broker with Carl Chuzy Co. and with Coldwell Banker. Bill was a talented oil landscape artist. His paintings were shown in St. Paul and Minneapolis, MN, and later in the Kansas City Area and Wichita. He also completed a novel, short stories, and a personal memoir for his children. He is preceded by his loving wife of 61 years, Gloria, parents, and his brother, Thomas. He is survived by children, William (Catherine) of Willow River, MN, Mary of St. Louis Park, MN, Gregory of Leawood, KS, Patricia (Michael) Goff of Leawood KS, Kathleen (Darrell) Houser of Anthony, KS, Joseph (Carma) of Park City, KS, and James (Susan) of Newton, KS; grandchildren, James, Eric (Linda), Charles (Megan), Elizabeth and Michael Morin, Jonathan and Nicholas, Goff; as well as four great grandchildren.
