

William was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Rachel (Fain) Van Stockum; his brother Barry Van Stockum; and his youngest son, David Van Stockum.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Carol (Walker) Van Stockum; his brother Raymond Van Stockum; his children William Van Stockum III (Jo), Patricia Ludwig (Fred), Kenneth Van Stockum, and Michelle Van Stockum, the surviving spouse of David. He also leaves behind a cherished legacy through his grandchildren: Rick Ludwig (Katie), Rachel Clement (Ryan), Robbin Morel (Tyler), Benjamin Ludwig (Adia), Kenneth Jr.Van Stockum, Montana Van Stockum, Dakota Van Stockum, Brandon Van Stockum, and Amanda Drollette (Joshua). William was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren—Kolton, Madalynn, Grayson, Wyatt, Braelyn, Peightyn, Jocelyn, Penelope, Harper, Anastasia, Kenneth III, and Skylar—with a thirteenth great-grandchild, a baby girl Drollette, on the way. He is also remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews.
William proudly served his country for 23 years in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he pursued a variety of endeavors as an entrepreneur, gentleman farmer, accountant, and fence builder.
He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
A visitation for William will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Heritage Baptist Church, 13500 W 13th St N, Wichita, KS 67235 with a funeral service immediately to follow at 10:30 AM.
A committal service will occur Monday, April 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 1208 N College St, Winfield, KS 67156.
