

William "Bill" L. Yates, 90, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 in Wichita. Bill was born the son of Joseph and Emerette Yates on January 25, 1932 in Wichita. At a young age Bill moved to South Hutchinson, KS. Bill and Maxine Yates were united in marriage on May 14, 1955. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage before her passing in 2019. Bill served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 in Korea. He was a retired machinist from Blanchat Machine Company in Wichita. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers; Bob, J.M., Jack, sisters; Fern Marsolf, Mary McFarland, Francis Swafford, Etta Marie Miller, Irene Brawner. Survivors include his three children; Brad Yates (Pat) of Wichita, Fr. Mark Yates, C.P.P.S. of Lovilia, Iowa, and Susan Yates of Wichita, sister; Ilean (Mike) White, grandchildren; Kristen Yates, Brandon (Natalie) Yates, great-grandchildren; Kobyn and Elyse Yates and extended family. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. on Sunday March 27, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday March 28, 2022 both at St. Ann Catholic Church, 2801 S. Seneca St, Wichita, KS. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, 600 W. Chicago Ave. Colwich, KS. In lieu of flowers; memorials can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 5500 E. Kellogg Ave., Wichita, KS.
