Wilma married Max Courington in Afton, OK in 1941. Ann was born in 1943 while Max flew for the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. Sue and Max Jr were born in Tulsa in 1947 and 1948 respectively. Wilma and Max moved to Wichita in 1954 where Mark was born in 1956. Wilma worked for the old Sears corporate office in Wichita from 1961 to 1974 when she and Max moved to Shell Knob, MO to retire on the lake. Max passed away in 1987 but they raised a big family and although Max died too young, they had 46 great years together. After Max’s death Wilma moved back to Wichita to be close to family. Wilma got re-acquainted with Allen Duncan at an Afton high school reunion and they were married in 1995. Allen was kind and generous to all and special to the Courington family. Allen passed away in 1999. From 1943 until her death Wilma was surrounded by an ever-growing family that was her priority and she was a beloved grandmother to her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Dora Boultinghouse; husband, Max Courington; siblings, Delia Stanley, Wanda Stevens, Frank E Boultinghouse Jr, and Elnora Bassett; second husband, Allen Duncan; and stepson, Allen Duncan Jr.
Wilma is survived by her daughters, Ann Capps and Sue Steiert; sons, Max Courington Jr (Beverly) and Mark Courington (Lindy) all of Wichita; stepdaughters, Kay Sue Duncan and Cindy Duncan; grandchildren, Julie Semler, David Capps, Max Courington III (Kathy), Angela LaFontaine (Bill), Emily Conner (Andrew), Jack Courington (Stephanie), Kelley Hotaling (Ben) and Erin Courington; step grandchildren, Erin Duncan and Jared Duncan; 9 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
