Woodrow Bird II

Woodrow Bird II, 75, loving husband, Father and proud grandpa passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. Woody was born May 1, 1947 to Woodrow and Lela Bird of Wichita, Kansas. He married Donna on August 29, 2003 they enjoyed 20 years of marriage. Woody served in the United States Navy as an electrician. After the military, Woody was employed by Sante Fe as an electrician. After 21 years with Beech Aircraft he retired in 2010. Woody was a part of the Good Sam's Club for 17 years. During the 13 years of his retirement he enjoyed mowing for anyone that would ask him (it relaxed him). The Ranch became known as the retirement home for many horses over the years which he enjoyed taking care of. Woody is survived by his wife Donna Bird of Wichita, Kansas; daughters Djuanna Niemeier of San Antonio, Texas, Crystal Mills & Lori Southern of Wichita, Kansas. Siblings; Lewis (Vicki) Bird of Roanoke, Texas, Christine (Dave) Bower of Wichita, Kansas. Woody loved his family which included grandchildren, Michael, Shannon and Nathaniel Nemeier, Ashley (Clint) Zimmerhakkl, Dante Jimenez, Taylor Southern, Salvador, Itztli and Isaiah Jimenez, and Annabelle Wilson, great granddaughter, Addalynn Zimmerhakkl, 7 granddogs and his 2 fur babies Bubba & Roxie. Many many extended family members and friends. Woody was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow and Lela Bird; his sister Karen Morland. Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 11th at 10:00 at Devorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary 201 S Hydraulic, Wichita, Kansas.
