Dorothy "Dottie" Ethel DeRose

Dorothy Ethel DeRose, age 78, of Wildwood, Florida passed away on March 11, 2024 at Cornerstone Hospice. She was born on December 8, 1945 in Newark, New Jersey to the late Otto and Lina (Kern) Trunk. Dorothy was affectionately known by “Dottie” by all who knew and loved her.

Dottie and Bud moved to Coral Springs, Florida in 1973 from New Jersey. They later moved to Sarasota in 1986 before their final move to Wildwood in 2001. She attended Village of Faith.

Dottie was a retired secretary who enjoyed crafting. Dottie was an award winning quilter and made beautiful handmade greeting cards. She had a passion for making clothing and Christmas stockings for children at various domestic shelters.

Dottie is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Lina; siblings, Catherine Rose and husband, Bud, Anne Anderson and Eugene Trunk.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Bernard “Bud” J. DeRose, Jr.; children, Angela White and husband, Lee White and Anthony DeRose and two grandchildren, Christina DeRose and Christopher White and wife, Amanda White.
