Born on July 21st, 1941, in Queens, New York, Michael Stuart Soloff was the oldest son of Louis Soloff and Sylvia (Sherman) Soloff.
From Queens, the family moved to Hollywood, Florida where Michael went to high school, graduating in 1959 from South Broward High School. After graduation, he enrolled at Palm Beach College earning a degree in business. Always a hard-worker, Michael was recruited to join the Zayre Department store managerial program and quickly climbed the leadership ladder. Little did he know that he would meet the love of his life, Esterita Kario, while working at the department store.
Mike and Rita were married on February 20th, 1966, in Miami Beach. Their fifty-nine-year marriage included many adventures and life-altering events, including the most challenging of all, Hurricane Katrina. With moves to New Orleans, Biloxi, Ohio, and finally back to Florida, Mike and Rita persevered through tough times and made life-long friends along the way. Mike is fondly remembered for his sense of humor, always having a silly remark or a funny comment while never offending his audience. He is an inspiration to those who loved him; known for his hard work, zest for learning new things, and strong beliefs in doing what he thought was best for his family.
He is survived by his wife, Rita, his daughter Stacey, son Lonnie (Alyssa), grandchildren Isaac Joseph, Alexander Michael, Olivia Rose and brothers Warren and Edward (Brenda).
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that friends and loved ones consider donating to Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
