Andrew Joseph Gettings

Andrew J. Gettings passed away peacefully at his home in Williamsburg, VA on Monday, June 20, 2016. A native of New York City, Andrew was an Army/Air Force veteran of WWII. Shortly following his military service, he married Margaret Esposito, his wife of 68 years. Andy spent 40 years in the insurance industry, ultimately serving as general manager of the New York region for USF&G. He retired to his Pearl River, NY home in 1984. Since their move to Williamsburg in 2001, Andrew and Margaret happily spent the past 15 years with their many close friends in Ford's Colony.

Andrew is survived by Margaret, 3 children (Michael, Robert and Kathryn), 6 grandchildren (Christopher, David, Jessica, Ellen, Gregory and Kimberly), 2 step-grandchildren (Kayla and Kyle Conarro), and 4 great-grandchildren (Dylan, Hailey, Alexa and Quinn). Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 23rd at The Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg to remember Andrew and to commemorate his life.
