Nancy's life was defined by adventure, artistry, and an extraordinary ability to create beauty and warmth wherever she went. In 1951, while attending Mary Washington College, she was set up on a blind date to attend a USNA dance with a handsome midshipman named Bradley. She returned stateside in 1954, and married Bradley in Alexandria, Virginia in 1957.
As an Air Force wife, Nancy raised their family with grace and resilience across 11 cities and numerous states including California, Ohio, Georgia, Tennessee, Virginia, Kansas, and Illinois. They also spent 10 years in Montreal, Canada, where Bradley worked for the United Nations at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). With each move, she transformed houses into homes, her keen eye for beauty, color, and proportion evident in every detail. Nancy loved art, antiques, and flowers, and had a particular talent for entertaining. Her vivacious personality and culinary skills made her a notorious hostess whose dinner parties were legendary amongst their family and friends.
Nancy possessed a sharp mind with a remarkable ability to remember facts and details, which served her well in her passion for politics. She was a delegate at the Republican National Convention in Kansas City in 1976, an experience that reflected her civic engagement and strong convictions.
They retired in Williamsburg, where Nancy continued to fill their home with beauty, laughter, and the warmth that defined her remarkable life.
