

After graduating from Holy Cross, he received a Masters from Boston College.
He served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War, was the Director of Dealer Relations for Nissan Motor Corporation and retired as the Vice President of the American International Automobile Dealers Association. Ben received the Good Conduct Medal during his military service. According to the 20th edition of Who’s Who in California, Benjamin was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 1982.
Benjamin was also a member of the St. Olaf Catholic Church, Fords Colony Theatre Club, Chairman of the Symphonia League, First Night 2000, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Board of Directors for Angels of Mercy, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed singing and was voted Best Singer in Williamsburg, sang for the Veterans and Memorial Day celebrations for 15 years, and American Legion Baseball games. He was a car enthusiast and so much more.
He was a devoted husband, father and friend to all.
Survivors include his wife, M. Barbara Machinist; daughters, Kathryn Poindexter (Kenneth) and Jocelyn Rodriguez (Manuel); grandchildren, Britany and Armand Atwater, Cassandra Poindexter, Benjamin Poindexter and Barbara Rodriguez, and great-grandson, Harrison James Atwater.
