Colleen Stevens Thompson

Colleen Stevens Thompson, age 89, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 18, 2022 in the late evening. Colleen was born in Cove - Lovingston, VA on April 4, 1933 to parents, Robert P. and Marion Peterson-Stevens. She was a resident of Hampton Roads/Williamsburg (JCC) VA and a member of Smith Memorial Baptist Church for more than 60 years. A devoted Christian, wife and mother, Colleen married her life love Jake L. Thompson in Elizabeth City, NC on June 11, 1949. She completed her G.E.D. in October 1970 and graduated from nursing school in Hampton, VA in March 1973 as an LPN. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jake; son, Dale E. Thompson; and daughter, Bonnie J. Thompson. Colleen was the last surviving of her five siblings, Albert, Calvin, Robert, Massie and Adeline. She is survived by her son, Edward H. Thompson; and countless nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends. Visitation will be at Nelsen's Funeral Home, Williamsburg, VA Thursday, May 26 at 10am to 12pm, followed by the memorial service then a short graveside at Williamsburg Memorial Park. There will be a wake at Smith Memorial Baptist Church afterwards.
