David Lee Bell, 59, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on September 6, 2021 after a brave battle with the Covid virus and other health complications.

David was born on December 2, 1961 to Clarence P. Bell and Mona Harp Bell in Phoenix, Arizona. David left high school to pursue a career in the United States Air Force because of his great love and dedication to the United States.

After leaving the Air Force, Dave pursued a career in sales and eventually became an authorized Snap-On Tools Dealer with a franchise in Hampton, Virginia. This was a natural choice for a man who had a great interest in all things mechanical.

Through the grace of God, David was blessed to be reunited with his high school sweetheart, Janet Ogden Bell, and the two were married in 1994 and had two children, Jacob and Joseph. In addition, Dave is survived by his two eldest sons, Joshua Bell and Jonah Bell. Anyone who knew Dave knew that he was a devoted father and husband.

David was compassionate and caring towards his fellow man and often went out of his way to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. David was extremely dedicated to his family and did all he could to provide the life he felt his family deserved.

David was predeceased by his father, Colonel Clarence P. Bell USAF. He is survived by his wife, Janet; sons, Joshua, Jonah, Jacob, and Joseph; his mother, Mona Harp Bell; a sister, Brenda; and two brothers, Tim and Ken.

The family requests that all flowers and notes be sent to Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Virginia. There will be a memorial service and funeral to be announced presently.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.NelsenWilliamsburg.com for the Bell family.

Dave Bell and I became neighbors and good friends in Willow Oaks in the mid 70's. We had many experiences and adventures through Junior high and High School. I miss those days. You moved away and return many years later to start a family and career as the Snap On Tool King. I'm glad my old friend was back again. 45 years of great friendship an like a brother. Till we meet again in Heaven. Love you Dave aka Doobie Brother.

I first met David Lee Bell when I was fifteen and he was seventeen. In those days, Dave wore blue jeans, paisley shirts, and a pooka shell necklace. This is how many of us dressed in the 1970's. Dave had an orange Toyota corolla that he used to get around, and Dave, myself, and our many other friends had a few adventures in that orange car. Dave, our fearless leader, always kept us safe-even then he was a good driver and understood mechanics well enough to keep his car sharp. Dave would eventually become the fearless leader of our family. David was always a true gentleman in those days, and this was a quality that he never lost. David Lee Bell was generous to a fault; and he would give you the shirt off his back especially if he thought you needed it . Without him, there is an incredible void. My entire day was framed with Dave: he always kissed me goodbye in the morning and he always came home at the end of the day, which was our daily time together. I have lost not only my husband and the father of my children; I have lost my lifelong best friend.

Dave was a kind and considerate man. He was my tool man, but he was also a good man. He took special interest in his customers and called me to check on me when I was hurt. He congratulated me when I had my first son. He was a pleasure to be around and I will miss him. I hope they need a good tool man in heaven.

Each day,I have tried to write this & it has gotten more difficult for me.The reason is Dave was more than the Snap-On Man.I met him
over 30 years ago & bought tools from him on his 1st time out on the Snap-On truck. And we became good friends.
Through the years he became part of my family.
When anyone in my family had medical problems or in the hospital,he was always there.
When I started my business,he made sure I had
everything I needed to be successful.Dave
was a positive person & a best friend that anyone would want.He had faith & high standards .
Dave,I will always remember what I learned from you.I will miss you.See you in Heaven!!

Dave you'll be missed and I want to thank you for getting me into Snap On tools and equipment for my needs. You were a great man and a wonderful person to us . It's going to be hard 😫 😪 to see you on the other side now. But you're not here to feel the pain anymore. Rest easy now.

To Jonah and the Bell Family-
I want to send my sincerest condolences to you in your time of grief and sorrow.
As I know God's timing is not our timing; the lost of Dave at this time was not at all what I was expecting.
I will miss my Friend, but he will forever live in my Heart. May God continue to protect and Bless you.

May Peace be with you.
