David Robert Sprott

David Robert Sprott, age 78, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025. David was born in Athens, Ohio on August 12, 1947 to the late Major Thomas George Sprott and Virginia Lee Skinner.

David graduated from Glouster High School, studied at Old Dominion University and obtained a Master's Degree in Education at Ohio University and South Dakota University. He served in the Air Force for 20 years and in the Vietnam War. David went on to work for the Department of Defense and retired as a contractor.

In his free time, David enjoyed learning about Civil War history, traveling, cruising, and being together with family and friends. An avid lover of photography, David was seldom seen without a camera in his hands. He could also be found playing golf, bicycling or running.

David is survived by his wife, Peggy Lee Sprott; his sons, Troy David Sprott and Christopher Kyle Sprott (Lori Sprott); his grandchildren, Cameron Sprott and Anna Sprott. David is also survived by his siblings, Jim Sprott (Wanda) and Mary Francis Burgess (Bill) and Kylee, his miniature Australian Shepherd.
