Her family soon relocated to Arvada, CO where she grew up. She attended Simpson College in Indianola, IA where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, majoring in voice and minoring in organ, meeting her first husband. The young couple moved to Clemson, SC where they raised two daughters, Cari and Shelley, while Diana taught music in the public schools. They eventually settled in Laurel, MD. Diana was the office manager at a Rockville, MD law firm. Later she contracted bookkeeping services for a variety of small businesses. Diana and David were active members of a car club, which became the basis of their social life. They moved to the Williamsburg, VA area in 2005. She became active as a volunteer in their new community and at the Olive Branch Christian Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir. At home, her passion was quilting, reading, and gathering with friends to play cards. She loved to host dinner parties. Diana and David enjoyed traveling, especially river cruises in Europe. Their focus for the past twenty-three years has been on their grandchildren Abbigail, Adam, Jacob, and Samantha. She is survived by her husband, David; Cari Guthrie of Elkridge, MD and Shelley and Eric Siegert of Clayton, NC; and by her sister, Bonnie Winkler of Evansville, WY. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, March 28 at 11:00 AM at the Olive Branch Christian Church, 7643 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
