Nécrologie de Donald L. Steberl
Don Steberl, of Williamsburg, passed away on August 31, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 22, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio to the late John and Nellie Steberl. After graduating from Purdue University in 1964 with a degree in electrical engineering, he worked in sales and management for 40 years. In retirement, he became a wine maker and in turn worked for the Williamsburg Winery. Don enjoyed living in Williamsburg and going to the Farmers Market with Kobe, his rescued greyhound. He was an active member of CERT, Citizens Emergency Response Team, and the Colonial Corvette Club. He was an active member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church, where he served as a Stephen Minister. Wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, he left to cherish his memory wife, Sue and their two daughters, Shelle Priest and her husband Michael, with grandsons, Matthew and Elijah; Danielle Seals and her husband Douglas, with grandson, Cody and granddaughters, Teighlor and Skyeler. He is also survived by his older sister, Nancy Allen, of Joilet, Illinois. All of whom were inspired by the strength and grace he showed in his last days as a model of not only how to live, but how to handle dying. A memorial service to celebrate Don's life will take place at Williamsburg United Methodist Church on September 13, 2013 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Williamsburg U.MC Respite Care Program, 500 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, Va., 23185, as well as Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, Va., 23188.
