Donnie Alexander Bartlett

Donnie Bartlett quietly passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 in his home, with loved ones around his bedside. He was born on February 7, 1954 to the late Ethel and Thomas Bartlett, Sr. in James City County.

As a lifelong resident of Williamsburg, he attended JCC public schools and received his GED in 1970 before enrollment in Job Corps. Afterwards, he served the US Army for several years before he was honorably discharged from the service.

Donnie was actively employed in the restaurant and housekeeping service before retiring due to disabilities. He was a lover of sports and outdoor activities, fishing and walking.

He was a devoted loving father and grandfather, who leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Donnell and Shaunell Bartlett, four stepchildren, six grandchildren, six siblings, two aunts, and a host of loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Bartlett.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Pastor Ronald A. Ellis, officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to service.
