

He was preceded in death by his parents, Domenico and Diana Tambone, and his brother, Dominick Tambone. Doug is survived by his siblings, Frank (Angela) Tambone, Loren (Ken) Silva, and Diane Burns; his cherished nieces and nephew, Tina (Ben) Fonville, Nicholas Burns, and Christiana (Mitch) Finch; his loving partner, Renee LeJoie; and their beloved pets, George and Mickey.
Doug’s passion for life was evident in everything he did. As a graduate of culinary school in New Jersey, his first career was cooking, Doug was known for his incredible skills. He loved nothing more than cooking a feast for his family and friends on holidays. Then he completed automotive college in Hampton, Virginia, earning a Master Technician certificate. He had a lifelong love for cars and motorcycles, possessing an exceptional understanding of engines. He could take apart any engine and rebuild it perfectly. Doug was an avid fan of the Yankees and used to love the Giants.
He took great joy in hosting bonfire parties in his backyard, often lighting up the night sky with fireworks and sharing his love for NASCAR. His infectious laughter and warm heart made him the life of any gathering.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, an organization that held a special place in Doug's heart.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Virginia.
The burial will take place on October 25 at 1 PM at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg, Virginia.
Doug will be dearly missed by so many but will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
