Eric William Hughes

Eric William Hughes born on May 31, 1968 passed away on February 6, 2026 at the age of 57. He was originally from Union, Elizabeth and Manasquan, New Jersey before moving to Williamsburg about 15 years ago.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert III and Agnes Hughes, Harry and Valerie Guerin and step-grandparents, Stephen and Frances Dena all of Union, New Jersey; and just recently his uncle, Albert Hughes Jr of Flemington, New Jersey January 2026.

He is survived by his father, William and Barbara Hughes of Williamsburg, Va; his mother, Joanne Hughes of Dunedin, Florida; his brother, Liam of Pocatello, Idaho; his aunt, Dolores Doyle of Hopatcong, New Jersey; and a Special Border Collie, Sidekick Swayze.

He is also survived by numerous beloved relatives and friends (Lifelong friend Judith Bohannon of Virginia and the Sergent family of New Jersey) in New Jersey and Virginia and his Hunting and Fishing buddies, especially Adam Slaninko

He was a 1986 graduate of Union High School, Union, New Jersey. His hobbies included hunting and fishing; coin collecting, model cars, his car club and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. He was a graphic designer and smart in everything he did. He recently worked for Worth Higgins & Associates in Richmond Va.

Services will be private for the family. A Memorial Service for Eric will be scheduled in New Jersey in the Spring.
