She was predeceased by her husband, Floyd (Sam) Whitaker; brothers, H.D., Floyd, Joe and Mac Brankley; sisters, Margaret Burton, Bettie Barnes, and Eunice Currin. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Manger; granddaughters, Melissa and Katie Manger, great grandchildren, Jaikobie and Tiante; sisters, Neva Parker and Shirley Vaughn; and sisters-in-law, Dot and Trudy Brankley.
She was a member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 1-3PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA. A service will be held Sunday, December 4, at 3pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Williamsburg Memorial Park, on Monday, December 5 at 10 am.
