Frank Rand Boatwright Jr.

Frank Rand “Randy” Boatwright, Jr., passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Randy was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on May 27, 1947, to Frank R. Boatwright, Sr. and Daisy Arline Mosely Boatwright. He was educated in the school systems of South Carolina, Kansas, Hawaii, and Virginia. He graduated from James Blair High School in Williamsburg, in 1964. Randy was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael Bland Boatwright.

Randy was employed by Bell Atlantic (later Verizon) and retired with a total of 38 years of service to the communications corporation.

A motorcycle enthusiast, Randy rode for many years with local friends. He was an avid golfer and, kayaker. He enjoyed traveling, also.

Randy is survived by his wife, Saundra “Sandy” Cooper Boatwright; his brother, Fred Wright; and three children (from his first marriage to Esther Thompson Boatwright), Rand and wife, Dias; Donna Rae and husband, Joel; and Brandy Boatwright Campbell. Also, surviving him are his grandchildren, Shelby and Lukito Boatwright, and McKenna and Tyler Campbell.

Randy leaves to cherish his memory, one brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and “family” from Seasons Trace and the JCCRC.

There will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers and other memorial tributes, you may make contributions to your favorite charities and organizations.
