George was a graduate of Lafayette High School where he ran cross country. He also played for years as an enthusiastic member of the Williamsburg Warriors, Royals and Patriots lacrosse teams. He volunteered with his sister Allison as a summer intern at Sentara Hospital and sang with his sister in the Williamsburg Community Chapel children's choir. After graduation, he attended Thomas Nelson Community College where he studied business and excelled in his studies.
George always looked forward to summer vacations up and down the East Coast, often with his dear cousin, Natalie, and always with his beloved sister and their grandparents, Jay and Nancy Everson. It was on one of his trips to Carolina Beach when George obtained his first guitar that, along with performing in the school band, led to a deep appreciation for music.
A wonderfully creative soul, George loved writing music and playing his bass, electric and acoustic guitar, organ, keyboard, chimes, and tambourine. George spent thousands of hours honing his musical skills on the piano passed down to him by his late great-grandmother, Melva Everson. He especially enjoyed working with his father to set up recording and music technology. George recently added vocals to his original music and was proud when he obtained his first copyright. He enjoyed shopping at thrift stores for vinyl records, especially Pink Floyd, and visiting his aunt Michelle who shared his love of music and donated to his vinyl collection.
George was also passionate about skateboarding and had many friends who shared his interest. He was known to be talented and fearless in competitions and street skating, and could often be seen skating with his videographer, fellow musician and long-time friend, Zach. George shared his gift with others and taught many newcomers how to be a successful skateboarder. He even taught his Persian cat how to ride a skateboard. Following a serious knee injury, George retired from competition.
George was newly employed at the Williamsburg National Golf Course where he was learning new skills and discovered that golfing is hard. Previously, George had been employed by Capriccio's Italian Restaurant and the Walmart Distribution Center.
George leaves behind his father and stepmother, Richard Everson and Tara Magill; his mother, Celester Hope McAllister; sister, Allison Everson; stepbrother, Kangee La Roque; grandparents, Jay and Nancy Everson; an aunt and uncle, Michelle Gibb and Nathan Everson, their spouses; six cousins and many extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at Williamsburg Community Chapel on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 11 a.m., 3899 John Tyler Hwy, Williamsburg. Burial is private.
