To the Clarke Family, 

On behalf of the Charleston Base SUBVETS and Swamp Fox Chapter SUBVETS WWII, I offer you our sincere condolences on Jerry's passing. We grieve with you on the loss of your loved one and our shipmate. The SUBVETS will have your family in our thoughts and prayers. There is no expiration date on the back of our dolphins and Jerry will always be remembered as a Brother of the Phin and a great Patriot.

My late husband and I lived in Williamsburg many years. I will always love Virginia and the wonderful People I knew there. Jerry and Joan Clarke were special people we were fortunate to love and call good friends. Jerry's special type of joy and happiness that he shared with people have made my memories of that time precious. He will be missed, but never forgotten. His memory will bring sunshine to rainy Seattle.

I am so sad to hear of  his passing. I always loved seeing him at the golf course. He always had a smile, a laugh, a story and a hug to share. Mrs. Clarke, know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. It is a sad time, but I know you have endless wonderful memories to see you through. Fondly,

I remember being Jerry's partner in the Williamsburg Cup. Although I was playing poorly (ahem?) and was feeling low, it never bothered Jerry. He was always cheerful and upbeat He enjoyed talking and good conversation. Always an enjoyable companion. Will miss.

Jerry was a wonderful, caring man who has been a long time friend.  Whenever he was around, I knew I would be smiling.  He brought a lively presence when he entered the room. I shall miss his smile and heartfelt personality.  His friendship was a blessing in my life.  My love to Joan and Family

Dear Joan and Family,
My love and deepest sympathy goes to you and your family.  As a widow myself I know the pain Of having your heart broken and filled with longing for your husband, friend, companion that has now gone to be with the Lord especially this age of life. I have found it best to remember the days God has given us with them and count those days as blessed until we see them again. I  am sorry I didn't know jerry better and your wonderful family.  My dad talked about him and said he was a good man. My pray for you is Gods love wraps around you to let you know he is with him now whole and healthy and with love ones gone before us. Be strong -but cry when you need to.  Reach out when you feel alone.  Your  family is there for you that love carries you day by day.  ❤

Jerry was a neighbor of ours in Queens Lake (we have since moved). We are sorry to hear of his passing and send condolences to Joan and the rest of the family. Jerry and Joan were always so neighborly and opened their home each year for the neighbors of Sherwood to get to know each other and share our lives. He even welcomed in us Hoos even though he was a VT fan! Rest in Peace Jerry!

Dear, Dear, Joan -

When I met Jerry I think he was at his very best.  He was full of life and humor, and the best friend and shipmate that I could have imagined.  Even so, when you stole his heart you managed to magnified his personality even more.  I know the years you were fortumate to share together as you raised your family and built a successfully business must have been full and memorable, and that those memories will help dull the immense sorrow you must be feeling now. 

 Please know that you - and Jerry - are very much in my thoughts, and in the thoughts of all of us who love both of you.

Jerry was a neighbor ,friend and overall great guy ! He was our champion of playing marbles in the back yard, if you remember that  fun game. He had a dog we used to squirrel hunt with. I moved away not long after high school ,have not seen Jerry in years. So sorry for this loss. Joan, prayers for you an all of family.

To the families and friends of Gerald Delmont (Jerry) Clarke.  I do not know the families personally but we all lose love ones in death.  I just want to send my deepest condolences to the families.   May God give all of you comfort and peace at this difficult time.  Please allow God to strengthen you in your grief.  I am sorry for your loss.
Virginia will always be my home but I now live in Harrisburg Pa.
