
A native of Ohio born on March 15, 1941, James was a contractor and realtor for many years. He served as President of the Burlington County Board of Realtors and was also President and Owner of Briarwood Real Estate Company in South Jersey. In leisure hours, he loved fishing, sailing, and boating, and devoted many happy hours to model railroading.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Ann Tate; four children, James Tate, Jr. (Lisa) of Voorhees, NJ; Michael Tate (Christine) of West Chester, PA; Charles Tate (Donna) of Atlanta, GA; and Nina Gerber (William) of Waterford, NJ; two stepsons, Kevin Bayzaith (Edie) of Roebling, NJ; and Scott Bayzaith (Colleen) of Marlton, NJ; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild; as well as two sisters, Jean Dawson (Luther) of Womelsdorf, PA; and Jane Charpie (Fred) of Sylvania, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be offered in Medford, NJ with interment at St. Bede Catholic Columbarium in Williamsburg, VA, both at a later date.
