She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Helen Belakowski; sisters, Henrietta Virchick and Gloria Sulenski; and spouse, Joseph.
Janet was a business owner and a member of St. Bede Catholic Church. She loved games and only a few could beat her at Scrabble. While living in New Jersey, people watching on the Atlantic City boardwalk and pulling a few one armed bandits in the casinos was a perfect day. Here in Williamsburg, she enjoyed playing bridge, dominoes and bingo.
Janet is survived by her son, Joel Mikulicz and his wife, Maria; daughters, Judy Brownlie and her husband, Tom and Janice DiGiovanni; grandchildren, Steven and Michael Brownlie, Anne, David and Paul DiGiovanni; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Asher and Evelyn.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 13 from 5-7pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. A mass of Christian burial will take place at St. Bede on Wednesday, December 14 at 11am. Interment will be at a future date at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ, next to her husband, Joseph.
