Jean R. Johnston

Jean Adelaide Robertson Johnston went to be with her Lord on January 24, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Wade Johnston; brothers Archie Robertson and Donnie Robertson; and sisters Edith Wheedleton and Peggy Webb.

Jean leaves behind her daughters Laura Gibbons (Billy) and Heidi Dwyer (Dan); grandchildren Joey Gibbons, Libby Dwyer, and Jack Dwyer; sisters Gloria Thrash and Ercelle Edwards; and brother Fred Robertson.

Jean was born December 19, 1935 to William Wirt and Hattie Geneva Robertson in Williamsburg, VA. She was a graduate of Matthew Whaley High School and later employed with Bell Telephone as an operator. Jean was a life-long member of Grace Baptist Church and an avid antique collector. She enjoyed the company of family and friends, with her greatest joy centered within her church family at Grace.

A memorial service will be conducted at Grace Baptist Church, 1013 Penniman Road, Williamsburg, VA, January 29, 2018 at 2:00pm, Rev. Steve Wiley presiding. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will be private.
