Jean Merritt Lewis

Mrs. Lewis had been a school teacher since 1954, and retired from Walsingham Academy. She was also a member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church, where she served as the church librarian. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, traveling all over the world, and spending time with her family at the beach.

She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Donna L. and Jim H. McKinney and Mary Catherine and Bill R. Fralich. She is also survived by three grandchildren whom she dearly loved, Jackie H. McKinney, Will L. Fralich and Sarah Jean Fralich; her brother, Manning C. Merritt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday, January 16 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd, Williamsburg. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 17 at Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Rd, Williamsburg.
