Jerald Roy Schneider passed away on November 7, 2018 at the age of 71.
Jerry “Ref” was born September 12, 1947 to the late Harold Lucas Schneider and Alice LaVonne Hutchins (Petersen) in Aberdeen, Washington.
Jerry grew up spending time on Summit Lake in Washington with his large tight-knit group of cousins. He loved the water and spent many summers in his adult life on the lake or the ocean with his family. Jerry was an avid electronics enthusiast, tinkering with everything from radios to home media control systems. Prior to retirement, his career was also in the field of technology. He was a huge sports fan which translated into his time refereeing high school football. Jerry was a faithful servant and member of the Lutheran Church. Perhaps one of his greatest achievements was his reign as Exalted Ruler of the Plano, Texas Elks Lodge. Jerry was also immensely proud of the accomplishments of his children, specifically of his son’s service to our country as a Sergeant First Class in the US Army.
Jerry is survived by his daughter Amanda Rae Hamlin (Kevin) of Davidson, North Carolina, his son Mark Harold Schneider (Elizabeth) of Sanford, North Carolina, his grandchildren Grace Christine Hamlin, Kohen Kenneth Hamlin, Blair Alice Hamlin, Matthew David Schneider and Jonathan Jerald Schneider, his half-sister Joan Ellen Friel (Mike) of Renton, Washington, his niece Megan Elise Friel and his nephew Michael Charles Friel. He is preceded in death by his daughter Christine Joan Schneider.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
