

Jerry was born in Williamsburg, VA on November 8, 1943 to his now deceased parents, Helen Marie Carmean and Roby Jefferson Nixon. He attended school in Williamsburg, VA. He was a contractor, construction superintendent, welder, and business owner. He was also known among the community as a farmer.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife Martha, their son, Emory; his brothers, Charlie, Roby, Jr., and Ed. He is survived by his siblings, Tommy, Juanita, and Hazel; children, Marc (Mary), David (Diem), Jon (Kelli), Helen, and Lucy (Rich); 17 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He loved nature, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He enjoyed being outside and working with his hands, whether it be to set up a hunting blind, skin a deer, reel in a fish, plow the earth, collect vegetables, or tend to the farm animals. He was kind and generous and loved sharing his joy of gardening and farming with others. He and his late wife, Martha, owned Jerry’s Garden produce stand and got to know the community well by offering fresh produce, gardening tips, and a warm smile.
Jerry loved the simple things in life. He cherished his family, was proud of them and frequently mentioned that he was very blessed.
The family would like to thank everyone for thoughts and prayers.
A celebration of life will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia on Saturday, January 18th at 2:00 pm with a visitation from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
