Joe Thomas Ward

Joe Thomas “Tommy” Ward Sr., 74, has gone home to be with the Lord on August 6, 2025. He is survived by his seven children, Joe Thomas Ward Jr (Don Dalton), Andrew Christian Ward (Jennifer Ward), Christina Swanson (Bob Swanson), Courtney Morrow (Robbie Morrow), Eric Ward (Ashley Ward), Chad Ward (Kaitlyn Ward), Leah Ward (Justin Maitland) his brothers Billy Ward, David Ward , sister Wendy Spade, and fourteen grandchildren; Madison, McKenzie, Will, Jackson, Ava, Allie, Silas, Piper, Charlie, Ethan, Shelby, Asher, Luna and Olive.

A faithful Catholic, Tommy loved The Lord, his family, and his country. He served in the Army, volunteering to fight in Vietnam when he was only 17 years old serving in the 281st AHC as a helicopter mechanic and a door gunner. Tommy retired from Anheiser Busch and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. Above all else in his life, Tommy loved and adored his family, and was most proud of his role as Dad and Papaw. His legacy of love and faith will live on in his children and grandchildren and all those who knew and loved him.

There will be a private burial at Albert G. Horton Jr Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk on August 25, 2025.
