John Francis Kopp

John Francis Kopp, 95, passed away on November 18, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Laverne Kopp. Their son, James, predeceased him in 2016. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in September of 1926, John attended Xavier University for both his BS and MS degrees. He was in the Navy for 17 months towards the end of World War II. Following his graduation, he obtained a job at the Environmental Protection Agency, where he spent his entire career, becoming Head of the Methods Development Branch. Services will be held at St. Bede Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd., on Tuesday, November 30 at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org.
